The Salt de la Caula waterfall is one of the most enticing places in the region. The waterfall, some 30 metres high, forms part of the torrent of La Caula that spans the slopes of the travertine cliffs. Shortly after the water, we come to the River Muga.
The cliffs near the waterfall offer various chasms and caves that were inhabited during prehistoric times. The entire area, very close to La Muga, is covered by numerous riverside trees (alders, poplars, bananas...), there are also springs (les Fontetes and la Caula springs) and numerous places to walk and enjoy nature.
At the foot of the waterfall is a gorge where people can swim in the summer. The place has been used since the 1920s by a restaurant that has a terrace facing the waterfall. This restaurant offers traditional Empordà cuisine.
