This is an old talc mine which went down in history when Joan Negrín (president of the Government between 1937 and 1939) at the height of the Civil War sent a shipment of paintings from the Prado museum and a treasure of five-hundred million dollars which would later be shipped to Mexico on the good ship Vita. The mine is not presently open to the public.
