The church of Santa Maria de Cistella was documented as far back as 1024. It was rebuilt in the 17th century with respect for the Romanesque façade (the new section can be seen clearly). The standout features are the large entrance and the windows, as they are descending Roman arches with a beautiful geometric ornamentation based on plant motifs. The present entry recovers elements of Catalan wrought iron work from the previous Romanesque entry.
